VIMS™ Expanding to TORQUE™ Orlando, FL. February 17, 2006 – Coalescent Technologies Corporation announced today that another version of their groundbreaking Virtual Incident Management System (VIMS™) training tool for first responders is being developed on the Torque™ gaming engine. The VIMS™ capability is currently fielded to first responder organizations in California and is being implemented in an expanded National Guard mission rehearsal and training program. By simulating first responder incidents, VIMS™ helps trainees and seasoned professionals enhance judgment and decision-making skills. It is designed to help emergency personnel avoid conflict, recognize potential problems, and find preemptive solutions. Significantly, it is also designed to serve as a cooperative training tool for Local, State, and Federal agencies to train and rehearse emergency response scenarios together. According to Coalescent’s CEO, Ken Whitmore, the plan to expand the VIMS™ product to Torque is driven by several factors, among them are:
Along with the VIMS™ move to the Torque platform, new modules for State and Federal Emergency Operations Centers, Information Operations, and cooperative training are in development. Additionally, this announcement coincides with Coalescent ‘s announcement of their Mobile Virtual Training Capability (MVTC™) packaged training solution for the Army National Guard. The MVTC™ is a complete training and support package, consisting of hardware, a suite of virtual training tools, maintenance, support, training support, and on-site operations / exercise support. VIMS™ is part of the MVTC™ training software suite. About Coalescent Technologies Corporation |
