Coalescent Technologies Corporation focuses on both their New and their Proven training products at the 127th NGAUS General Conference

Orlando, FL. August 16, 2005 – Coalescent Technologies Corporation announces its participation in the 127th National Guard Association of the United States (NGAUS) General Conference at the Hawaii Convention Center, Honolulu, September 16-18, 2005.

The Coalescent exhibit will introduce to our National Guard customers our new SINCGARS Training System (STS) as well as highlighting the latest and greatest additions to our Virtual Battlefield Systems 1 (VBS1™) library of add-on modules and product upgrades.
Since its introduction to the Guard at the Adjutant Generals Association of the United States (AGAUS) annual meeting in 2004, VBS1™ has achieved wide spread acceptance by the Army National Guard and has been deployed at multiple sites, ranging from centralized Mobilizations Centers to individual State training facilities. Our STS is similarly designed to provide highly effective and low-cost, scenario-based training on the SINCGARS radios. The STS enables the full range of SINCGARS training, with many distinct advantages over using the radios themselves, including:

  • Limited availability of operational radios
  • Focus on the individual soldier, but equally capable for staff training
  • Suitable for Individual, Collective, and Sustainment training – initial and refresher
  • No COM/SEC or other security issues
  • NO RF frequency management concerns
  • No batteries
  • Hands-on training experience for “knobology” and functionality
  • Structured curriculum with verifiable results
  • Self-paced or instructor-led
  • Training concept is flexible enough to handle anything from an individual soldier training on a single STS, all the way to multiple soldiers on multiple STSs training collectively on the same scenario or using an electronic classroom and web-based training courseware

A Comprehensive SINCGARS training solution is needed as quickly as possible, as Guardsmen are deploying “today” into harm’s way with little or no SINCGARS training. As the SINCGARS “E” model radio is being fielded to the ARNG, there will be many units that will still have no radios or, possibly, “D” model SINCGARS for the next several years. Also, soldiers who have had training and/or operational exposure to the SINCGARS currently have no means to practice what they learned and retain those skills. SINCGARS training, as an integral part of the Force Generation Training Model (FG™) will result in soldiers who are better prepared for deployment and the operational challenges they will face.

VBS1™ is a fully interactive, three-dimensional software training application providing photo-realistic terrain, user-definable mission scenarios, inherent military doctrine, client-specific symbology, and variable environmental conditions. With VBS1™’s advanced artificial intelligence capabilities, training participants may interact with virtual enemies in ever-changing synthetic environments or the training scenarios may involve live participants in the roles of friendly forces, opposing forces, and non-combatants. This software simulation tool is modular and can be specifically tailored to meet the individual needs of military, law enforcement, homeland security, and first responder training requirements. For the Army National Guard delivery, VBS1™ training scenarios are developed to focus on dismounted operations, combined arms training, convoy protection and security, and other missions specifically related to actual challenges and threats faced by deployed personnel and Guard personnel assigned to relieve and support first responders in their State roles.

VBS1™ may be deployed on laptops, desktops, uniquely configured and optimized MTCs, or through the Internet, delivering cost-effective solutions for worldwide interactive training. In addition to the Army National Guard, VBS1™ is currently fielded to multiple locations within the U.S. Marine Corps and being used by the U.S. Army, U.S. Navy, U.S. Secret Service, U.S. Coast Guard, the Australian Defense Force, Canadian Army, several NATO allies, and many others. The Marine Corps uses it as the primary combat convoy training system and has just nearly doubled their number of fielded systems.

The new Virtual Incident Management System (VIMS™) add-on module is designed specifically for first responders and for joint training between the National Guard and first responder agencies. It is now fielded in Los Angles, CA. and to the U.S. Coast Guard.

We look forward to your visit to our booth (#1407 & 1409). Please give our team an opportunity to share some of the work we are doing. You will also get a hands-on opportunity see the new SINCGARS Training System and the newest VBS1™ / VIMS™ modules. The National Guard Association of the United States, or NGAUS, was created in 1878 for the purpose of providing united National Guard representation before Congress to obtain better equipment, standardized training, and a more combat-ready force. Today, NGAUS has the same mission, with the goal of maintaining the freedom and security the nation by guaranteeing a strong national defense through the provision of a vital dynamic National Guard as a part of the Total Force.
