COALESCENT ATTENDING GDC 2005 Orlando, FL. January 21, 2005 – Coalescent Technologies Corporation announced today that representatives from their senior management team and their VBS1™ training system development team will be attending this year’s Game Developers Conference (CGC) and Serious Games Summit in March. Among others, this team will consist of the Marine Corps Subject Matter experts that worked with the Marine Corps Training and Education Command to initially create VBS1™ as derivative of the highly successfully Operation Flashpoint game developed by Bohemia Inactive Studio (BIS). Since then VBS1™ has become world renown for its effectiveness as a training system. It is used by the U.S. Marine Corps, the U.S. National Guard, the Australian Defense Force, the U.S. Secret Service, the U.S. Military Academy (WestPoint), the U.S. Naval Academy, and several Homeland Security organizations, as well as commercial industry and in academia. Coalescent’s attendance at GDC and the Serious Games Summit is part of their continual efforts to stay abreast of current technologies, market trends, innovations, and customer requirements. The team plans to share their lessons learned from their VBS1™ successes and challenges, as well as meet with others and learn from them. Their goal is to meet potential future teammates while learning where the industry is heading and what processes and/or technologies will take it there.
